The Portuguese word "Pomares" means orchards.The Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo estate was owned by the Portuguese Royal Family until 1725. The original wine cellar that dates back to 1764 and the 19th-century manor house with a chapel built in 1765 are harmoniously integrated into one of the estate's rolling hills along the Douro river. Balance, harmony, and authenticity are this winery's slogan. 
The Pomares Branco has attractive aromas and flavors of nectarine, apricots, and gooseberry. The palate is concentrated yet vibrant and fresh and finishes with hints of stony minerality and baking spice. DELICIOUS!
